From the Shey Phoksundo Lake View Point, you can see the whole surrounding Shey Phoksundo Lake. From the Shey Phoksundo lake, it takes around 3 hrs hike to reach the Shey Phoksundo Lake Viewpoint. Shey Phoksundo Lake View Point is situated at the height of 4100-4200m above sea level. From the top, you can see the different shapes of Shey Phoksundo Lake.
Surround by rocky hills and pine trees, the blue-green color makes this alpine lake so stunning. You will also witness kanjiwora Himal and the neighboring Himalayas.
Buddhist followers of the Bonpo religion believe that there is an underwater palace and Tantric Mandala of spirits under Shey Phoksundo Lake. There are beautiful glaciers right above or near the lake. Another interesting thing is, there is Tshowa Gompa, a 900-year-old Bon monastery which is situated right on the ridge above Phoksundo Lake.
