Summit Air is formerly known as Goma air operated since 2011. In 2014, it started its scheduled operation with its factory new LET 410 UVPE-20 STOL from Kathmandu. It is using modern aircraft called LET 410 Russian-made 18 seater aircraft in Nepalese aviation. The airline uses three hub airports, namely, Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Nepalgunj. It is the only one to use Nepalgunj Airport as the main hub of operation and focuses on operating out of that base.

Shey Gompa (Upper Dolpo)

Shey Gompa is a Buddhist monastery built around the 11th century. It is situated at an elevation of 4200m. It is a two-story monastery and painted in red color and contains Buddhist paintings. The place is restricted till 1989 and still, foreigners need to have travel permits to visit there. Very few people have visited the inner Dolpo and the upper Dolpa region. The village has been beautifully portrayed in the Eric Vallis movie called “Himalaya” also called Caravan. It has extremely and transparently depicted the lifestyle and the celestial burial of the upper Dolpo people.

Kang La Pass

Kang La Pass Lies just between Shey Phoksundo Lake and Shey Gompa. This pass is very challenging for Dolpa due it is rock-strewn trails. From this submit, you can see the astonishing view of Himalayan Peaks and deserted valley, and lush vegetation of the Dolpa region.
